Schüler:innen-Besuch in Abstatt | IT2School Day
Nach langer Coronapause war es am 13. Oktober 2022 endlich soweit: der IT2School Day fand wieder in Abstatt unter dem Motto „Einblicke in den Entwicklungsstandort – Automatisiertes Fahren“ statt.

besuchten Bosch in Abstatt im Rahmen des Wissensfabrik-Projektes „IT2School“.
Gemeinsam mit den Organisatoren Markus Lange und Waltraud Hermann haben die Schüler einen unvergesslichen Tag erlebt. Dieser wurde auch von Kolleg:innen mit ihrer Expertise und großem Engagement mitgestaltet.
CC/COM stellte das Produktportfolio des Standortes und Geschäftsbereiches Chassis Systems Control vor. Die Mechatroniker-Auszubildenden im ersten Lehrjahr zeigten anschließend die verschiedenen Bremssysteme und Sensoren der aktiven und passiven Fahrsicherheitssysteme sowie Radar-, Ultraschall- und Videosysteme. Die Auszubildenden beeindruckten durch ihre professionellen und interessanten Präsentationen und zeigten, wie schnell sie sich in diese für sie neuen Produkte eingearbeitet haben.
Nach dieser theoretischen Einführung wurden zwei Gruppen gebildet. Zuerst ging es in die Einbauhalle. Dort stellten Experten an den Erprobungsfahrzeugen den komplexen Einbau der Bosch-Komponenten und den zusätzlich benötigten Mess-Systemen zur Datenauswertung vor.
Danach wurde von Entwicklungsingenieuren die Funktionsweise der eingebauten Radar-, Ultraschall- und Videofunktionen live an verschiedenen LKWs gezeigt und erklärt. Alle Schüler:innen konnten in beiden LKWs mitfahren, um die Systeme in Aktion zu erleben.
Die Mittagspause in der Kantine am Standort war ein großes Erlebnis für die Schüler:innen und Lehrer, denn die gewählten Produkte wurden per RFID-Scan erkannt und bargeldlos über eine LunchCard gezahlt.
Spannend war auch der Nachmittag bei der Bosch Engineering GmbH am Standort. Dort lernten die Schüler im InnoWorX-Bereich in einem kurzen interaktiven Workshop, die Notizmethode Sketch Noting. Diese wird in vielen Entwicklungsteams bei Besprechungen und Entwicklungsrunden verwendet. Dabei entstanden sehr viele interessante Plakate, auf denen die Handhabung der Stifte und Darstellungsmöglichkeiten ausprobiert und danach untereinander begutachtet werden konnte.
Bei der vorletzten Station ging es um Arbeiten und Aufgaben im Bereich 3D-Druck, Radar- und Videofunktionen mit VR-Brille, Scantechnologie- und Bildverarbeitung. Die Referenten waren dortige Studenten – schon wahre Profis.
Das Highlight zum Abschluss war ein spezieller Testraum mit dem High-Tech-Fahrsimulator, in dem die Schüler:innen verschiedene Fahrzeugsystemausfälle erleben konnten. So manche Reaktion wäre im „echten“ Betrieb gefährlich ausgegangen, was im Simulator deutlich spürbar war.
Mit vielen positiven Eindrücken und Erlebnissen im Bosch Entwicklungszentrum Abstatt endete ein sehr interessanter und spannender Tag für die Schüler:innen und Lehrer des Projektes IT2School Day.

Students‘ visit in Abstatt | IT2School Day
After a long Corona break, the time had finally come on October 13, 2022: the IT2School Day took place again in Abstatt under the motto „Insights into the development location – automated driving“.

visited Bosch in Abstatt as part of the Knowledge Factory project „IT2School“.
Together with the organizers Markus Lange and Waltraud Hermann, the students experienced an unforgettable day. This day was also supported by colleagues with their expertise and great commitment.
CC/COM presented the product portfolio of the location and its business unit Chassis Systems Control. The first-year mechatronics apprentices then demonstrated the various braking systems and sensors of the active and passive safety systems as well as radar, ultrasonic and video systems. The trainees impressed with their professional and interesting presentations and showed how quickly they were able to familiarize themselves with these products, which were new to them.
After this theoretical introduction, two groups were formed. First, they went to the installation hall. There, experts used the test vehicles to demonstrate the complex installation of Bosch components and the additional measuring systems required for data evaluation.
Afterwards, development engineers demonstrated and explained the functionality of the installed radar, ultrasonic and video functions live on various trucks. All students were able to ride in both trucks to see the systems in action.
The lunch break in the canteen at the location was a great experience for the students and teachers, as the selected products were recognized by RFID scan and paid for cashlessly via a LunchCard.
The afternoon at Bosch Engineering GmbH at the site was also exciting. There, in the InnoWorX area, the students learned the note-taking method “Sketch Noting” in a short interactive workshop. This is used in many development teams during meetings and development rounds. Many interesting posters were created, on which the handling of the pens and presentation possibilities could be tried out and then examined among themselves.
The penultimate station was about work and tasks in the field of 3D printing, radar and video functions with VR glasses, scanning technology and image processing. The speakers were students there – already true professionals.
The highlight at the end was a special test room with a high-tech driving simulator in which the students could experience various vehicle system failures. Some reaction would have been dangerous in „real“ operation, which was clearly noticeable in the simulator.
With many positive impressions and experiences at Bosch’s Abstatt development center, a very interesting and exciting day ended for the students and teachers of the IT2School Day project.
